Heading to FW on Friday. Wife has several family members meeting us there but not staying on Disney properties. Can they get passes to the CG to come visit us? Thanks

RE: Charleston, South Carolina

We were there a few months ago. Spent two and a half days but it wasn't enough. I concur with the tolley ride, it gives you a good overall view then you can go back and see things that interest you. We stayed at Oak Plantation which was nice, only a few miles outside of town. Also went to Magnolia Plantation - spent several hours but could easily have spent an entire day. Will definitely be going back soon...

Anticipated Toad Connection Cost?

Considering using a toad for an extensive coast to coast trip in the future. I have been looking at different set up but am a little confused. What would you expect to pay for a total toad hook-up, not including the vehicle? Thanks

RE: GPS

Guess I am the outlander... I use the I-Way 600. Nice big touch screen. Has a menu screen for RVs that has truck stops, RV repair, Campgrounds, and Crackle Barrels with a single touch. Also use it on the motorcycle...

RE: Hydralift motorcycle lift

Thanks for the quick replies. Bill, where are you getting the lift installed? I would be very interested. DW and I are planning a cross county trip upon retirement (23 months away) and want to take the bike. We currently use a trailer, but if the lift works well it would probably be a lot easier... Thanks for the info...

RE: Parking in FLA ???

Storage in the Daytona Beach area is somewhat hard to come by. I am currently on a waiting list at three different places in Ormond Beach (just north of Daytona) and have been for several months. For just a plan piece of sand lot to park on it generally runs around $25-$40 per month. One place which has concrete lot with a place to wash and empty tanks, etc. is $65 per month but has an extremely long waiting list. There are two campgrounds that meet the description of what you saw. One is at the northern end of Ormond Beach next to the Corral Sands Motel. We have reservations there for next month with a family reunion (they are using the motel). If I remember correctly the rate was $59 per night. The other is Gamble Rogers State Park in Flagler Beach. It is a little more expensive and does not have sewer. I would not consider leaving the RV stored on the Beach. Sand and salt spray just destroy everything. While the salt spray comes about 12 miles inland (according to a study by Chevy) it is not nearly as bad being just a mile or so off the beach.

RE: Hydralift motorcycle lift

Interesting. The site shows it hauling a Goldwing (my bike) but does not provide any cost information. Anyone know an estimated cost?

RE: Shower Drain Trap

I had a problem with our previous MH. I picked up a plastic gizmo (I know, very technical term) at Lowe's. It has jagged edges and goes down the drain to grab all that nasty stuff that lives in there. Made about three passes with this thing and brought out lots of hair and junk. Drain worked fantastic after that. I keep it under the bathroom sink for periodic cleanouts. Costs about $5. I believe it was called Zip Cleaner...

RE: Waxing for first time... advice

I have been using a product called Zymol. Goes on and off easily. I use two buffers - one for wax on, one for wax off. Saves a lot of time changing the buffer heads...

RE: What brand of orbital buffer should I purchase?

I use two 10" buffers from Walmart, about $25 each. One for wax on, one for wax off. Saves having to change the buffing heads all the time... I have a 10" cordless, but as you said, it does not hold a charge long enoungh to get much done...

Do they charge extra for credit card purchases vs. cash?

RE: Recent purchases -- anyone bought a new DP lately???

While we didn't buy new, we did trade for an '06 Tour Master last month. Traded up from an '01 Georgie Boy Diesel. We had taken a trip to Charleston, SC and by the time we got there I was exhausted from fighting the wind and trucks blowing us all over the road. Stopped to pick up tiolet chemicals in Savannah on the way home and ended up leaving with the new to us DP. The ride comfort and power is well worth the increase price in fuel. While I haven't acutally calulated the MPG yet, I am convinced that we got better mileage on the return trip...

RE: Fla's newest state park..

Can't tell from the photos and the web site doesn't say (or I didn't see it)... Are there any hook-ups at the sites?

Oops!!

hit a brick flower planter with the storage door of my '06 Tour Master. Ripped through the aluminin and really looks ugly!! Who repairs such things or can you order a new door that is color matched? Thanks

RE: what would be a good price to polish a MH

Haven't used them yet but the DW found a place in Daytona Beach that would do it (wash and wax) for $150. Traded in our Georgie Boy two weeks ago for a GulfStream so I did the first one myself. Two and half days but now I know every inch of the exterior! And, have the aching muscles to prove it!!!

RE: Bugs on the Windsheild

In a previous life I worked for an Ambulance service. We used to make frequent runs between Daytona Beach and Gainesville to the VA and teaching hospitals. The windshield and the whole front of the unit would get covered in bugs. Upon our return we would stop at a store and buy a Coke can. Shake it up real good and spray in on the bugged area. Let it soak for about 5 minutes then spray with a hose. Got the majority of the bugs off very easily. Makes you wonder what it does to your stomach!!!
